Dusting:

  • Use a duster to remove any light dust.
  • Use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment or a handheld vacuum to remove dust and debris.

Spot Cleaning:

  • SmartFold™ fabrics cannot be dampened or spot cleaned. Water will damage the fabric.

Do not use over-the-counter cleaning products. For light dusting, use a cloth similar to a Swiffer®. To remove dust that may accumulate inside the fabric folds over time, a blow dryer can be used—set to a no-heat setting to prevent damage to the fabric.

Fabric Expectations

When a shade is first installed and is in a completely lowered position, it is common to notice minor indentations on the fabric near the tube, and at the folds. To remedy, let the shades relax in the closed position for an extended period of time (up to 48 hours). To help preserve the beauty of the shades, the shades should be regularly moved to the closed position to allow the fabric to relax and maintain the folds. If the folds appear flat, gently push up at the bottom of the folds to soften the crease and fluff the folds in an upward motion.

SmartFold™ Shades are produced at the ordered height. Please do not extend or lower the shade beyond the shade height.

Due to the nature of the weaving process, some imperfections in the weave are considered normal. Fabric appearance can vary based on the indoor light intensity. This is not a defect and is considered normal. Due to variations in fabric and dye lots, colors or sheens may vary slightly. It is recommended that all shades for the same room be ordered at the same time to help ensure color consistency.

Even in room darkening, for the same fabric collection, darker color fabrics may be able to block more light than lighter color fabrics.

The woven fabric may fray due to its weaving. After cutting, processing, or other external factors, the fray may be enlarged and the fabric’s yarn may be exposed. But it can normally be trimmed with scissors, and this will not affect the shade’s function.

During the shipping process, the material may shift slightly due to its woven construction, causing slight shortening or uneven edges. There may also be slight creases in fabric. To remove creases, immediately unroll the shade completely, extend, and let it hang for several days. For best result,
please leave 1” space between the hem bar and window sill.
